This Privacy Policy explains how DECENT INVESTMENT L.L.C., the company that owns and operates ATLvibe ("ATLvibe," "we," "us"), collects, uses, and shares information when you use the ATLvibe mobile app and website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the Service:
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and any profile details you provide (such as a display name). You can also use parts of the Service as a guest.
- Location data. With your permission, we use your device location to show nearby places, personalize recommendations, and draw routes between stops. You can grant precise or approximate location, or deny it, in your device settings. The app asks only for access while you use it — never “Always” — and never reads your location in the background. On Arrival reminders are watched by iOS itself.
- Microphone audio. When you use the voice assistant, we capture audio while you are speaking so it can be converted to text and answered. We do not access your microphone except during an active voice interaction.
- Camera and photos. With your permission, the camera takes the photos you add to a note. ATLvibe doesn't ask for your photo library: a photo is in a note only because you took it there or shared it in from another app. Photos stay on your phone unless you use Ask AI on their note.
- Content you provide. The messages, searches, plans, saved places, reviews, and check-ins you create in the Service. Your conversations with the assistant are saved so you can reopen them; we keep the most recent 35 and the oldest is dropped as new ones arrive.
- Things that stay on your phone. Quick notes (and the PDFs, web pages and photos you add to them, taken with the camera or shared in from Safari, Chrome, Files or Photos), the sticky board, your voice recordings in a note, timers, reminders and On Arrival places live in the app's storage on your device. The words in a photo or a scanned page are read on the phone too, by the text recognition built into iOS, and nothing is sent for it. We don't receive any of this unless you attach a note to a task or use Ask AI on a note — then its text, the text of its PDFs, and up to four of its photos are sent.
- Usage & device data. Basic technical information such as app version, device type, operating system, and interactions with features, used to keep the Service reliable and improve it.
- Subscription & purchase data. If you subscribe, our payments partner and the app store process your purchase and share limited status information (such as whether a subscription is active). We never receive your full card number.
How we use your information
- Provide, personalize, and improve the Service's recommendations and features.
- Convert voice input to text and generate responses to your requests.
- Show relevant places, events, and routes based on your location and preferences.
- Manage your account, subscriptions, and usage limits.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and debug problems.
- Communicate with you about support requests and important updates.
Voice and location, specifically
Because these are sensitive, to be clear: microphone audio is only captured while you hold the mic button — and for about one second after you release it, so a brief slip doesn't cut you off mid-sentence — is used to understand and answer your request, and is not used to build an advertising profile. There is no wake word and no background listening. Location is used in the moment to make results relevant and is never sold, and it is never read with the app in the background. You can revoke either permission at any time in your device settings and continue using the Service by typing.
The voice you hear is made on your phone. Your guide's speech is synthesized on the device by a model that ships inside the app. No reply text is sent to a text-to-speech company — there is no such company in our stack — and nothing about the audio you hear leaves your device.
These are the exact permissions the app asks for, and nothing else: microphone and speech recognition (only while you hold the button), location while using the app, camera (when you take a photo into a note), and notifications (reminders, timers and On Arrival). ATLvibe never asks for “Always” location, your photo library, contacts, calendars, or your device's advertising identifier.
The AI assistant, and what it sends
ATLvibe's assistant cannot answer you without sending your request to an AI service operated by another company. Before it sends anything, the app shows you this list and asks for your permission; you can decline, and the map, events, saved places, and your own plans keep working. You can withdraw permission at any time in the app under Profile → AI & Data Sharing, which stops any further sharing.
When you use the assistant, we send:
- What you type or say to it.
- Your approximate location, if you have allowed location access.
- Recent messages in the current conversation, so replies follow the thread.
- The places, plans, and tasks the assistant is helping you with.
- A note you use Ask AI on, with the text of its PDFs and up to four of its photos.
We do not send your name, email address, account identifier, contacts, photo library, or payment details to any AI service. The only photos that go are the ones in a note you use Ask AI on, and only when you ask.
The assistant keeps no memory of you between sessions. It is not given a stored profile, a name, a tone, or a home address, and nothing it learned last week is carried into this week. If you ask it to remember something, it uses that for the current conversation and tells you plainly that it won't survive. Your saved conversations are kept for you to reopen; they are not fed back into it.
Service providers
We share information with the vendors below, who process it on our behalf to provide the Service. Each is bound by a written agreement requiring confidentiality and security protections at least equivalent to those described in this policy, permitting them to use the data only to perform the service we have asked for, and prohibiting them from selling it or using it for their own advertising.
| Provider | What it does | What we send it |
|---|---|---|
| OpenAI | Writes the assistant's answers, recommendations, and day plans | Your request, recent conversation, approximate location, and the pins, plans or task in progress; a note you use Ask AI on, with the text of its PDFs and up to four of its photos |
| Apple | Converts speech to text, provides map, place, and directions data, and processes App Store billing | The audio recorded while you hold the mic button, the place or address being looked up, a route's start and end, and your subscription status |
| Supabase | Our database and account authentication | Your account, saved places, reviews, plans, and saved conversations |
| RevenueCat | Manages subscription status across app stores | An anonymous account identifier and your subscription state |
The app's AI & Data Sharing screen shows this same list, and asks for your permission before the assistant sends anything.
Two names are no longer here, and that is the point. Deepgram used to speak the assistant's replies; the guides' voices are now generated on your device, so no reply text is sent anywhere to be read aloud. Serper used to provide live web results; that search path was removed, and place look-ups now run against our own Atlanta database and Apple's on-device map search.
If we add or change a sub-processor in a way that affects what is shared, we update this list and ask for your permission again inside the app before the change takes effect for you.
What we don't do
- No ad network, and no targeting. The app contains no advertising SDK, and we build no advertising profile from your location, your voice, or your requests. The Audio tab can show a sponsor spot alongside a podcast episode: it is sold against that episode, delivered from our own database, and identical for everyone who plays it. No personal data is used to choose it, and no advertiser receives anything about you — not even that you saw it.
- No third-party analytics or trackers. There is no analytics SDK in the app and no tracking pixel in it. The website (atlvibe.app, not the app) counts visits with Rybbit, an analytics tool we run on our own server: it records the pages viewed, the site that sent you, your browser and device type, and an approximate location worked out from your IP address. It sets no cookies, and the data is not shared or sold.
- No tracking across other apps or websites. We don't collect your device's advertising identifier and we don't link your activity to data from other companies — which is why iOS never shows you an App Tracking Transparency prompt for ATLvibe. If that ever changes, you'll be asked first, in that prompt.
- No selling, and no data brokers. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.
- No training on your conversations by us. We don't use your requests to train models of our own.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only: with the service providers above; when you choose to make content public (for example, a review); to comply with law or a valid legal request; to protect the rights, safety, and security of ATLvibe and its users; or as part of a business transfer (such as a merger), with notice where required.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, then delete or de-identify it, unless a longer period is required by law. When you delete your account, we delete your associated personal data as described below. Specifically:
- Conversations. The 35 most recent saved chats are kept; older ones are removed automatically as new ones are saved.
- Microphone audio. We don't store your recordings. Audio goes to Apple's speech service to become text, and it's the text the assistant works from. Voice memos you record into a note stay on your device.
- Guest sessions. If you use the app without signing up, the anonymous account behind that session — and the data attached to it — is deleted after 30 days of no use.
- On-device content. Notes and their PDFs and photos, the sticky board, timers, reminders and On Arrival places are removed when you delete them or uninstall the app; they were never on our servers.
Your choices and rights
- Access & correction. You can view and edit your profile in the app.
- Permissions. Location, microphone and camera are controlled by your device settings and can be changed at any time.
- Account deletion. You can delete your account and its data from inside the app at any time — Profile → Delete account — or by emailing support@atlvibe.app from your account's email address. We'll process deletion promptly, typically within 30 days.
- Regional rights. Depending on where you live (for example, under the CCPA/CPRA or GDPR), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise them.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact support@atlvibe.app and we'll delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.
International users
ATLvibe is operated from the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws than yours.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
